SnakeOil, or best bee sting cure

15 Aug 2018– Did you ever buy something and have buyers remorse?  I felt like SAP who just spent his life’s savings on buying the Brooklyn Bridge.  Lost sleep last night thinking about the $1500 drunk purchase I made for bee sting cures, a DC gizmo that supposedly neutralizes the venom.  Who knows, but I’m a little poorer and hopefully Rachelle is a little safer.  Departed with our foursome of bikes to Nakusp.  Got onto the major Canadian thoroughfare of route 3 via Castlegar and shared it with heavy traffic until we turned North on route 6.

Stopped near the intersection for breakfast at Frog’s Peak Cafe, that offered a scrumptious selection of eggs benedict.  I had “The Lox” with salmon–mmmmm, good.

We curved up the spectacular route that followed the shore of Slocan River and Arrow Lake.  There is a lake behind us, shrouded in smoke from the 600 fires raging in BC.

We rolled into Nakusp around 1130 to find that our rooms at the Arrow Lake Lodge not ready, so a little walk with our camp chairs and a handful of cigars did the trick to kill a couple of hours.

Offloaded gear and changed into shorts to play tourist in this little hamlet.  Met up with Wade at Three Lions pub to bum a lunch from one of newest members of NORWESTARS–thanks, Wade.

In the evening we gathered around our pretend fire in the asphalt parking lot, surrounded by motorcycles to enjoy a little banter and whiskey amongst friends.
