17 Aug 2018–Woke, made tea in the JetBoil to start the day, found the showers empty so snuke in for a warm, wet start to the day. The group, deciding the night before, departed at 0930 for a ride to Sandon. Sandon was a prosperous silver mining town that rerouted the river under main street, but as mother nature prevailed, the river escaped that man-made wooden tunnel and destroyed the town. Then came fire, and finally silver went out of vogue, so it is now a ghost town and museum.

On to the festivities, more pressing than touring a bygone mineral operation, was the International CAN-AM cup. USA vs Canada. Frisbee golf. It was a contentious affair, challenging and competitive. Despite Canada recruiting some members for its team whose nationality was in question, prevailed. Although the CAN-AM committee is working with US&Canadian Immigration on eligibility of some of the Canadian teammates. After dinner at the community center, the Canadians rejoiced and behaved with unsportsmanlike conduct.
