19 Aug 2018–Packed up and ready to make the circuitous route home via Sandpoint, Idaho. We buzzed through the mountainous 31A to Kaslo. The smoke has kept the sun’s radiation of warmth at bay and we needed something warm to drink. We stopped in Kaslo for coffee and a cup of warm foam that was supposed to be chai tea, where Jon found his mate.
Packed and ready to go.

Jon and mate, Chris, discussing all that matters in life.

The perfectly timed ferry, and trip across Kootney Lake with its majestic views of the surrounding mountains smoke.

Standard issue ferry bagpiper.

We made it back into the US, and rode through the smoke to our stay at the Holiday Inn in Sandpoint, where we killed an hour stuffing our faces with great food in the restaurant located in the parking lot, Lou’s.
