14 Aug 2017–Departed this morning on my journey to Nakusp, BC from Bend, OR. I rode up through Prineville-Fossil-Condon-Connell. I reserved a room in Connell, WA at one of the two only motels in town–I did this sight unseen. It was a rundown room in a rundown agricultural town in the middle of Washington Wheat country. I thought I was in McFarland, USA, being the only non-hispanic person from observation. I unpacked my gear in the spacious room when I realized I forgot an iPhone cord to recharge my phone. I saw a computer repair shop in between some vacated businesses in an old strip mall when I motorcycled into the pitstop, so I walked down and got a $21, “Top of the line cord,” the proprietor claimed.
After getting the recharging going, I walked across the street to Harvest Foods for some water to go with my protein bar dinner. After that savory cuisine, I enjoyed a cigar in the chair among the heap of debris out front of my room; an apparent remodel going on next door, maybe? I eased into bed with a Longmire book I forgot I bought and read until the hammering next door stopped.
