Fertilizer Water

Crawled out of bed at 0615 for the continental breakfast, which is to say, “ready paste for make-your-own waffles, cereal out of a dispenser, and some stale bread to toast.  I had a bowl of corn flakes and went back to bed.  I finally showered and donned the riding gear about 0900 and headed off.  Tom (my trusty GPS) kept wanting to send me in circles, until I figured out I had put a waypoint in Yakima somewhere en route Osoyoos.  I headed up some back roads to Quincy, and made my first stop for some lunch.  Yelp told me Tacos mi Pueblo was the best in town, so I crammed a huge burrito into the ol’ pie hole.  It was a very good burrito, the water I asked for tasted like fertilizer, and probably was, so polished off a water bottle outside.  I saw a Honda dealer across the street and couldn’t resist sitting on my son Max’s dream bike–the Africa Twin.

I headed north, but soon the road turned to dirt.  I didn’t want to experience the same thing as last year–the wild adventure up the Discovery Route that killed the Osoyoos trip and almost me–so I turned around and took some other asphalted roads up to the easily identified Route 2.  I turned left and dropped down into Orondo where I got in line with the RVs and trucks.  I stopped at a riverside park to get some pick-me-up, the burrito giving me that lethargic sensation.  I got back on Trafalgar after an hour respite and decided to push on to Osoyoos.

Just as I got into town the heavens opened up and poured on me.  I registered and now sit in my hotel room waiting for the NORWESTARS to arrive.  I might go on a ride tomorrow around the area.
